This book contains lessons learned from the museum project 'The Art of Travel'.

This project - winner of the "Changing Museum in a Changing World" competition - was implemented at the Sverdlovsk Regional Museum of Local Lore in 2013-2014. Our task was to interpret the museum collection in such a way that it would become relevant to the life of the local community.

Ekaterinburg's travelling communities were involved at different stages of the project. The exhibition absorbed the stories and energy of the Urals people living in different eras. When it happened, 500 or 5 years ago, it doesn't matter to us. The passion for discovering new worlds has no time limits.

It was important for us to make the Museum a place where travel can begin.
